For local governments with limited capacity but a desire to address economic mobility and opportunity in their communities, partnering with a local university may be a beneficial approach. Collaboration between local government and universities staffs studies and programs, and provides future local government leaders with the opportunity to gain professional experience and transferable skills. This moderated panel will showcase the work of students at Arizona, California, and Florida universities who partnered with local governments to address issues such as broadband accessibility, food deserts, and workforce development.
This session is eligible for Certification Maintenance credits with the American Institute of Certified Planners.
