Tackling the Housing Shortage: How Local Governments Can Lead on Delivering Housing Supply and Affordability (presentation slides)
Hear from national speakers on effective strategies for local governments to lead on addressing America’s housing supply shortage. Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins will share how her county has transformed more than 100 acres of underutilized county-owned land into vibrant mixed-income communities that thousands of families now call home. Learn how your county can follow Dade County’s lead on issues including land use changes, impact fee waivers, accelerated permitting, and workforce housing incentives. After her presentation, Commissioner Higgins will join in conversation with former HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge to discuss national strategies to effectively move the needle on housing supply in an environment with reduced federal funding and high construction costs.
